In this post i wanna talk about the amazing spa experience a friend of mine recommended.
(yes pregnant mummies, you didn't hear me wrong. it is a place we can enjoy relaxing massage and spa treatment too!)
It is located at the top floor of Bangsar Village 2 called the Hammam.
What is Hammam? Hammam is the first traditional Moroccan version of the Turkish Bath in Asia.

& the best part is, pregnant lady like me can go for it too!

The very middle eastern front entrance.

"The Hammam, means “spreader of warmth” in Arabic and has its roots in Ancient Greek Roman bathhouse culture. It’s a practise which has charmed thousands from different cultures throughout history. It has always been about beauty and well being, purifying the body and spirit, nourishing the precious relationship between people and water, and our instinctual need to connect with others."

The moment we stepped inside we totally forgot that we were in KL &
as if we were magically transported to a beautiful Middle Eastern setting spa retreat house.

Dragged my sister along as well. She did not want to come at first but i managed to convinced her in the end.
(trust me! she was super satisfied with the spa and said she would regret if she hadn't join us)

Absolutely loving the setting.
Hammam offers a whole range of Spa traeatments and packages, ranging from Hammam & Gommage, to Aromatic Massage to Facials. Naturally their Hammam & Gommage is their signature treatment which differentiates them from other spas.

We picked the package from Harem Treats called "My Favorite Concubine Hammam" the spa manager recommended us and said that it is most customer's favorite.
It is included with a :
Hammam & Gommage (turkish bath)
Moorish Body Polish (remove all the dead skin from head to toe)
& last but not least a 45mins Aromatic Massage.
This package cost RM315 per session.
But if you go in 6 person, you can get the promotion price at only RM250 for each. (save up to RM65!)
If you can't get 6 person, you can always get it first and go for it next time. That's what we did since we only have 5 of us.

We were first led to our locker room to get keep our belongings and changed into disposable bras and undies provided by them.

Also a bathrobe.

The very middle eastern turkish-ish waiting lounge.

Pretty tiny fountain made of tiles.

All of us in our bathrobes waiting to be treated like a Morracan princess.
We were then led by our Morrocan therapist to the hararet which is a sauna room made completely of heated marble.

It is set with a certain level of humidity and has a gentle warm temperature. The therapists first start drenching us with the warm water follow by the Deldi black soap (mixed with Henna) all over our bodies to help open up the pores. We were then brought to another room and lay on the marble tiles for a good 10 minutes. It was quite difficult to lay on marble tiles for a 8.5 months pregnant lady like me. But it really relax my whole body.
After that, we continued with our Gommage which is a scrub-down to remove all the dead skin from our body using viscose and a special exfoliating glove. It was rather painful cause the therapist need to scrub really hard in order to really remove all the dead skin, but surprisingly we were kind of enjoying the "pain". It was one of the best part of the whole massage. After the scrubbing, you will see all your dead skin all over the marble tiled slab and also 30 grams lighter!
Lastly we were then brought back into the main area for the Moorish Body Polish. Using powder made out of volcanic clay and a range of plants, the treatment caused our skin to soften and relax. After lying on the marble slabs for another 6 minutes or so, the therapists then rinsed off the clay and washed our hair and body with soothing shower gel (minty feeling).

This is how @bellakuan& @cristinecheng look after their treatment! ROFL!
They got their hair washed too! With some kind a self-mixed shampoo Hammam provided and heard it was super relaxing as if they were in the salon or something (sobs, me and my sis didn't get to try it cause we thought they were just gonna rinse through) MUST TRY NEXT TIME!

After the treatment, we went back out the lounge to relax for a bit before the last session. While waiting for the masseuse to get ready, we were served with some Middle Eastern delicacies and mint tea.
This is how our massage room looks like,

super pretty can!
We were brought into this couple room with the 2 beds. The room setting and decorations make you super comfortable and the dimmed flowery light make you wanna sleep in there forever and never get up while the local masseuse massage you with special oil.

at the other end is a bath tub where two can share a romantic bath/spa together.
The masseuse did a really great job! I really enjoyed the whole hammam and 45mins massage session. All pregnant lady need to pampers themselves and feel relaxed once in while right? After all the baby weight we're carrying. I highly recommend this place for pregnant ladies and also girlies that wanna just pamper yourself with a unique spa experience! A pleasant place to relax indeed.
All of us left with satisfactory and definitely coming back for a next round!
